Custom React website for SolarFacts, a US solar contract help site
A consumer-education website for SolarFacts, a project of The Help Me Group LLC for US homeowners with problem solar loans, leases and power-purchase agreements: built as a React app with a 12-issue problem checklist, a four-step eligibility questionnaire, an education hub and state guides on a clickable US map.
The problem
Homeowners who reach SolarFacts are usually stuck in a solar deal that has gone wrong, and often unsure what kind of contract they signed or which rules apply where they live. The site had to explain loans, leases, liens and dealer fees in plain terms, then turn a worried visitor into an eligibility review or a booked call.
Our approach
- 01Built a custom single-page app in React with Vite and React Router, hosted on Vercel, in a clean white and green design with large type and a short menu: Protocol, Facts, Locations, Education and Eligibility, plus a Free Analysis button.
- 02Opened the homepage with a self-check: 12 common solar problems, from payments that were not as promised to an installer that went out of business, that visitors tap to select, with a running count and an Analyze Options bar, followed by a 30-minute strategy call booking block and a five-step outline of the review.
- 03Built a four-step eligibility questionnaire that starts with state, contract type (loan, lease, PPA or cash purchase), installation status and contract date, so each review begins with the facts that decide which rules apply.
- 04Organized the content by state and by problem: a clickable US map with full state guides for Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Nevada, New Jersey, New York and Texas (California’s covers the $1,000 deposit cap, cancellation windows, AB 1070 and NEM 3.0), an Education Hub of 19 articles in seven topic groups, and 23 pages on specific problems such as hidden dealer fees, UCC-1 filings and installer bankruptcy.
The results
A live site at solarfacts.org with 108 pages in its sitemap, including full guides for eight states, 19 education articles, 23 problem pages and a four-step eligibility questionnaire.
